The ISTQB® are delighted to confirm Paul Gerrard as the winner of the 2018 International Software Testing Excellence Award.

The Award Panel selected Mr. Gerrard in recognition of his commitment and contribution to sofware quality and the testing profession. In particular, he has been at the center of solutions to some of the testing industries most significant challenges not least the need for standardized skills and knowledge for testing professionals

Mr. Gerrard is a consultant, teacher, webmaster, developer and tester. He is a regular publisher of articles, an author, renowned conference speaker and winner of multiple testing industry awards. He has conducted consulting assignments in all aspects of sotiware testing and quality assurance, specializing in test assurance. He is Principal of Gerrard Consulting Limited and is the host of the Assurance Leadership Forum in the UK.

Mr. Gerrard was presented the Award at the ISTQB® General Assembly meeting in Berlin, Germany.

Robert BinderInternationally recognized testing expert, Mr. Robert V. Binder, is the winner of the prestigious ISTQB® International Software Testing Excellence Award for 2016. The Award Panel selected Mr. Binder in recognition of his commitment to software quality and the testing profession over the past 24 years.

Mr. Binder is a high-assurance thought leader, serial entrepreneur, and system architect. He recently joined Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute. He is a sought-after speaker and author of the definitive Testing Object-oriented Systems, two other books, and many articles. He is a model-based testing specialist who developed the multi-dimensional testing methodology. He co-chaired the X9 D14 working group adapting the ISO 9001 Quality Management standard to automated trading systems. As a member of IEEE working group P1633, Recommended Practice for Software Reliability Engineering, he drafted sections on software process and risk management. Mr. Binder received the MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the BA and MBA from the University of Chicago. He is an IEEE Senior Member, ACM member, and holds the CSDP.
