2023 Award

We are delighted to confirm that again in 2023, the ISTQB® will be presenting the International Software Testing Excellence Award to the person who has shown an outstanding contribution to the field of software quality. The 2023 Award will reflect the ISTQB® commitment and gratitude to those who have made a significant difference to the testing profession. Importantly, the winner must fulfill the eligibility criteria and will be an individual who is making an outstanding contribution to the wider testing community and beyond the boundaries of their own organization.

Anyone can make a nomination for the Award, which recognizes innovation, research and the promotion of the software testing profession. Nominate your choice for the International Software Testing Excellence Award before the 31st of August 2023!

Please note: Nominations for the ISTQB® International Software Testing Excellence Award can be submitted by anyone (except Award Panel members). Nomination proposals need to be submitted through the Submission Form and need to give clear reasons for the nomination, as well as references that validate the nominee's achievements. Anonymous and self-nomination proposals will not be accepted.

Rik Marselis

Rik receives the ISTQB® Software Testing Excellence Award in recognition that his great contribution to the field of testing and thanks to his involvement and skills in:

  • Increasing public awareness of the importance of software quality and testing
  • Advancing the publication of research findings in the field of software quality and testing
  • Pushing further education on the subject of software quality and testing
  • Supporting the creation of standards and norms in the area of software quality and testing

The ISTQB® are delighted to confirm Mr. Richard Bender as the winner of the 2019 International Software Testing Excellence Award.

Mr. Bender has over fifty years’ experience in software with a primary focus on quality assurance and testing. He is currently the President of Bender RBT Inc., a software quality company he founded in 1977 – www.BenderRBT.com. He has consulted internationally to large and small corporations, government agencies, and the military. His focus has been on business critical, mission critical, and safety critical systems.
